Obituary

Terry Jo Schomaker, 68, of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, February 13, 2020 with her daughter, Danielle, at her side. Terry Jo was born Therese Joanne on August 8, 1951 to June B. and Herman R. Schomaker and lived most of her life in the Marinette and Peshtigo area. Terry Jo graduated from Catholic Central High school in 1969.

Terry loved to cook and sew and was a talented artist with chalk, water colors, crayon, and pencil. She also enjoyed creating flower arrangements of cut, artificial, and live flowers; each spring, she created all the arrangements that adorned the family home on Jackson Street. She enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables from the schomaker family garden, especially tomatoes, pickles, and beans. She canned her dad's favorite pickle recipe, called chow-chow, every year so that he would have a fresh supply. She loved to cook, especially for her mom and dad, and her favorite dishes to cook were her own spaghetti sauce, spring rolls, and potato salad. Her spaghetti sauce had a vibrant, fresh tomato flavor that was unmatched.

To the Schomaker family, Terry Jo was our big sister, and, to many of her friends, she was also their “big sister”, she gave of herself often, and was even known to create and sew Halloween costumes for friends and family.

Terry Jo was a mother and a daughter, an aunt and a niece, a sister and a sister-in-law, a grand daughter and, most important to her, a grandma to her two grandsons, James and Devante, she was a part of their lives, daily. She attended all of their school plays and concerts, sporting events, and supported all of their activities. James and Devante have always been a source of pride and joy to Terry Jo, and she didn't hesitate to let you know of their many achievements.

Terry Jo will be missed and fondly remembered by her daughter, Danielle Neely, and grandsons, Devante and James Neely, her father Herman “Bob” Schomaker, sisters Vicki Rae (Rudy) Schiller and Debbie Len (Steve) Gamelin, brothers Mark, Kenny John, and Pat (Carol) Schomaker, brother-in-law, Jeff Hasenfus, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and a great grand-niece.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Stevie, her sister, Dottie Beth (Jeff) Hasenfus, her mother, June, and her special friend, C.J. Kotecki.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. A service will follow.
