Obituary

Scott R. Rupert, age 64, passed away Saturday evening, July13, 2019 as the result of a motorcycle accident. Scott was born June 26, 1955 in Marinette to Samuel and Raeleen (Rothering) Rupert, the 3rd of 6 children. He resided in this area for most of his life.

Scott was a 1974 graduate of Marinette High School. He was employed at Marinette Marine Corp. before joining the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 6 years in two enlistments.
Scott married the former Cynthia Olson in Marinette on April 1st, 1983. Together they had 2 daughters.

He was a longtime and current employee of Menominee Paper Co. (Dunn Paper) and also self employed in his own business Ground Hawg Stump Removal. In earlier years he also did roofing. A hard worker and always on the move Scott enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting, attending concerts, riding his Harley and his snowmobile. He was also known for his bonfires which were the best. Along with Cindy he loved to make his famous salsa. They produced many quarts over the years and were always proud to share it. Scott was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and was an inspiration to many. He was meticulous with any projects he had going on.

He was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church.

Surviving Scott are his wife Cindy and their daughters Brooke (Phil) Graves and Cheyanne (Jim) Slepicka; three granddaughters who were the light of his life, Morgan and Lyla Verhagen and Rayna Slepicka.

Further surviving Scott are his 5 siblings, Jeff (Rita) Rupert, Cindy Johnston, Mark Rupert (friend Katy), Wendy Rupert and Keri Lemieux; his mother-in-law Sandy Olson; brothers-in-law Scott (Kathi), Kevin (friend Tabs) and Joel Olson; his godson Kevin Rupert; and many other loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Scott was loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Bruce Olson and a brother-in-law Robert Johnston.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 2 until 6 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Services will follow with the Rev. Jon Nelson officiating, and will conclude with Military honors ceremony by the Military 20 Year Club. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
