Roberta Mae (Graunke) Peterson age 95 of Marinette, WI was called home by her Lord on May 12, 2020 at Ellen's Home Assisted Living facility in Germantown, WI. She was born on March 2, 1925 in Neenah, WI to the late Robert and Gertrude Mae Graunke. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Conrad E. Krantz who passed away on November 29, 2000 and more recently her loving husband of 13 years, Darwin B. Peterson who passed away October 11, 2016.

Roberta graduated from Marinette High School on June 7, 1943. She started working at the young age of 14 doing domestic work for various prominent families in Marinette to help her family with household expenses. Her more notable employment was with the Shell Oil Company and the Kenosha County Courthouse. After her marriage to Conrad on October 19, 1946 she became a homemaker and mother. She also worked part-time for the Sangamon Card Company filling the card racks at the K-Mart in Menominee, Michigan as her children grew older.

Religion was extremely important to Roberta and after her marriage to Conrad she became a Lutheran attending Zion Lutheran Church where she remained a member until her passing. She had also been an Evangelical and Methodist in her earlier years. Her time at Zion garnered many friendships with fellow parishioners and she was very active in the Ruth Group and Sew for Missions among other church activities. Roberta was an avid collector of lighthouses and her home was filled with many different lighthouse items she had acquired during her travels to lighthouses throughout the country. She also enjoyed playing the organ and piano and especially loved to sing.

Roberta is survived by two children, Robert Louis Krantz and wife Sherri of Delafield, Wisconsin and Kristin Krantz (granddaughter) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Colleen Marie (Krantz) Lundwall and husband Jeffery of Germantown, Wisconsin. She is further survived by brother-in-law, Arthur Antonissen and sister-in-law Violet Graunke and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by daughter Karen Ann Krantz who died after childbirth. She is also preceded in death by her sister Patricia (Graunke) Antonissen of Woodbury, Minnesota and her brother Loren Graunke of Neenah, Wisconsin.

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed on the church Facebook page, Zion Lutheran Church ELCA Marinette. Friends are welcome to join the family at the Mellen Township Cemetery for the burial in Wallace, Michigan at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Zion Lutheran Church, 2714 James Street, Marinette, WI 54143. Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home is assisting the family.
