Robert James Bell, 88, longtime Marinette resident currently residing at the Harbors Retirement Community, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1927 in Racine, coming to Marinette as a child.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the LST 393. On July 3, 1954, he married the former Carol Dausey. He worked as a welder at Marinette Marine Corp. for 26 years before his retirement in 1989. He was an avid fisherman and a talented wood worker. Robert was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; granddaughters, Andrea (Bryan) Polzin and Alicia (Nick) Radliff; great-grandsons, Braxton and Dixon Polzin; and brothers-in-law, Loren (Muriel) Dausey, Melvin Dausey and Ben Kamin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Elsie Bell; a son, Terry Bell; sisters, Mary Ann Kamin and Delores Dausey; and brothers, Kenneth and Donald Bell.
In keeping with his wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Forest Home Cemetery.
