Obituary

Rita Rose Sadowski, 101, of Marinette, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo. One of ten children, she was born May 9, 1917 in Marinette to Alcide and Blanche (LaCombe) Chevalier. Rita resided in Marinette all of her life until moving to Rennes-East.
She was a graduate of Marinette High School and worked at the former Boreal Mfg. Co., Lauerman’s, Marinette General Hospital, Marinette County Social Services and the hospice program. On August 29, 1942, she married Ben Sadowski at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marinette. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1995.
Rita was a member of Calvary Church in Marinette.
She is survived by three sons, James (Joan) of Billings, Mont., David (Wileen) and Thomas (Eileen) both of Marinette; three daughters, Linda (Michael) Prince of Peshtigo, Barbara (Don) Wauters of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Jeanne (John) Burt of Loretta, Wis.; a son-in-law, Ray Darga of Marinette; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Chevalier.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben; a daughter, Roseann Darga; a grandson, Benedict Robert Sadowski; four brothers, Henry, Paul, Maurice and Roy Chevalier; and four sisters, Jeanette Nelson, Katherine Vieth, Ollie Kaiser and Lucille LeBeau.
Friends may call at Calvary Church, W1498 Highway 64, Marinette, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Tim Hawthorne officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
