Mildred B. Christianson

July 24, 1920 - January 15, 2019
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Resided in Marinette, Wisconsin

Mildred B. Christianson (nee Hellermann) passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019 in Marinette, WI with her beloved niece at her side. Millie was born on July 24, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI to Max and Alma (Jetter) Hellermann. She married Jack Christianson in Milwaukee, WI on July 12, 1941. Millie spent much of her life in Omaha, NE where the Hellermann’s and Jetter’s had settled after immigration to the United States from Germany/Poland. The Hellermann family also spent many years in Milwaukee and eventually settled in Marinette, WI. After marriage, she was back in Omaha and the Christianson cabin at Hanson’s Lake. Those summers at the lake revealed her deep and abiding interest in fishing, swimming, cooking and bridge. During those years she also spent much time visiting in Marinette, WI where Max and Alma had relocated and where Max co-founded the Marinette Marine Corporation. Her three siblings and many other relatives were also in Marinette.
Mildred is survived by two sons - Bruce and Brad (Julie), and three grandchildren; Jordan, Zachary and Sandra, and several loving nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her three siblings - Erwin, Louis, and Lois Hellermann.
Millie was a warm and witty woman always ready with a quip, a quote, a cut, or a complement. She was good with numbers and kept the books for a jewelry store in Omaha and for other business. She was always ready for tax filing day - even at 98 - making sure all the paperwork was in order.
The last several years of Millie’s life were spent at Renaissance and Sun Valley in Marinette Wisconsin. The family would like to thank the care givers at Renaissance and Sun Valley for the love and respect they showed “Aunt Millie - Dearest One” in her final years.
