Obituary

Mildred A. “Milly” Hansen, 98, of Marinette, WI, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Bay Area Medical Center. She was born August 27, 1920 in Menominee, Michigan to Frank and Julia (Johnson) Kveton and graduated from Menominee High School in 1938, serving as chairman of class reunions throughout the years until 1998. She was married to Erling Hansen on December 26, 1941 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Marinette. She was a devoted member there and also of the Dorcas Circle when it was formed. Milly also worked with the quilters for many years and assisted the pastor.
Early in her life she worked at the former Boreal Mfg. Co. She later worked in the insurance offices of Robert Hitchon and the Eklund Insurance Agency. Milly was an avid golfer, being a member of Little River Country Club since 1955. She had her first hole in one at age 77 and also played in many tournaments. She also played with several different bridge clubs over the years.
Mildred is survived by one son, James (Natalie) Hansen of Plymouth, Wis. and two daughters, Janis (Richard) Boldt of Eau Claire, Wis. and Julianne (Tom) Schacht of Ramsey, Minn.; six grandchildren, Carrie (Alex) Pieper, Christina (David) Marver, Michael (Joanna) Boldt, Mark (Emily) Boldt, Matthew Schacht and Amanda Schacht; and seven great-grandchildren, Allison and Christian Pieper, Colin and Lauren Marver, Kaylee Boldt and Victoria and MacKenzie Koehler. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Marie Kveton, Terry Wood and Marsha Kveton; many nieces and nephews; and many friends at Northland Terrace Estates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erling; and four brothers, Robert, Frank, Ralph and Richard Kveton.
Friends may call at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Wendt officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum.
Mildred’s family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Bay Area Medical Center and to the Emergency Rescue Squad.
