Obituary

Mary Ann Schultz, 64, of Marinette passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 10, 2020 after having fought a courageous 9 ½ year battle with carcinoid neuroendocrine cancer. She was born December 27, 1955 in Menominee to Thomas G. and Marlene (Lascelle) McGowan, residing in Marinette all of her life. She graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School with the Class of 1974. Mary Ann was employed for many years at Osco Drug and CVS Pharmacy, retiring in 2015. She had been a longtime member of Marinette Jaycees. Mary Ann loved spending time with her family and even in illness always put her family ahead of herself.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Sheldon, and had recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary; and is further survived by one daughter, Sara Schultz Preston of Suamico, Wis.; one son, Jason Schultz and his wife, Allison, of Marinette; two brothers, Rick McGowan and his wife, Pam, of Marinette and Mark McGowan and his wife, Suzanne, of Wales, United Kingdom; a brother-in-law, Shawn Schultz and his wife, Karen, of Marinette; and is also survived by special cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Michael McGowan; and in-laws, Robert and Carol Schultz.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Vigil prayers will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday led by Deacon Jerome Thetreau. A funeral mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15th at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St. with Father Celestine Byekwaso as celebrant. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
Mary Ann’s family extends a special thank you to Dr. Stephanie, nurses and staff at the Aurora Marinette Cancer Center and to Unity Hospice.
