Obituary

Marilyn Jean Lieburn 92 passed away peacefully at the Jack & Engrid Meng residence of Unity Hospice in DePere on December 5, 2018.
She was an only child born to John and Helen Miller on September 25 1926. After graduation from MHS in 1944 she worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC as a steno. She could still remember the names of all the Generals she worked for. After WW 2 ended she returned home to Marinette where she lived the rest of her life.
She married Ken Lieburn on August 2 1947 at the home of her parents. Over the years she worked at Ansul, sold Avon, JC Penney and the Bell store for many years along with raising her 4 children.
She loved family get togethers and summers at the cabin with her children and grand children. She loved to laugh and had a very contagious laugh and a good sense of humor. She was an avid Packer fan and loved people with dimples especially Aaron Rodgers. She loved to sing and “harmonize,” shopping, Friday fish fries and Colonel Sanders chicken legs. She and her husband spent many happy years as “snowbirds” in Tucson, AZ
She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church and had a strong faith. She enjoyed lunches and getting together with the “church ladies” and also made pasties with them for many years.
She is survived by her 4 children. Steve (Joan) Escanaba, Lynn (Kent) Peterson Marinette, Cindy (Karl) Dovnik Green Bay and Scott (Patty) Kiel. Nine grand children, Lisa, Todd, Carrie, Adam, Tyler, Spencer, Austin, Sierra and Colton. Seven great grand children; two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Ward Kenneth Lieburn on Jan. 9, 1992; and by many brothers and sisters- in-law.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 with funeral to follow at 1:00 with Rev Lewis Hague officiating.
Special thank you to the Harbors where she spent the last 2 1/2 years, JEM care, UP nursing and Hospice, Unity Hospice of Green Bay and the Meng Hospice center of De Pere.
