Marie Pauline Wilhelmina (Keller) Hanson, 95, of Marinette, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo. The daughter of Charles and Marie (Jaeger) Keller, Marie was born December 3, 1923 at the old M & M Hospital in Marinette. She was a lifelong area resident.
Marie married Andrew C. Hanson, Sr. on July 31, 1943. For many years they resided in the Town of Peshtigo where Marie loved gardening. She had worked for Fish Net & Twine and Emerson Electric in Menominee. Marie had a lifelong devotion to family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Over the years she was active in the Stewart School Homemaker’s Club and enjoyed the Marinette Senior Center where she sang in the What’s Next group.
Marie was a longtime member of Peace United Church of Christ and a member of the Women’s Guild of the church.
She is survived by four children, Marie (Bill) Wolfe, Andrew C. (Lois) Hanson, Jr., Carl Hanson and Mary (Randy) Wright; 10 grandchildren, Maureen Manning, David and Pat Wolfe, Andrew III, Scott and Sheila Hanson, Chris, Matt, Brad and Bryan Wright; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Boneham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; a brother, William Keller; and sisters, Amelia Hanson and Emma Bjorkman.
At Marie’s request, a private family service will be held at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home with Pastor Linda Forray officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Rennes Health Center-East, visiting nurse practitioner Ramona Klevgard and Dr. Debora Bensi for their kindness in the care of our mother.
A memorial fund has been established for Peace United Church of Christ.
