Obituary

Madonna T. Lambert, 93, of Marinette, died Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Luther Home. Madonna was born to Fred and Florence (Beaumier) Lambert on June 8, 1925 in Marinette.
Madonna was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1944. She joined the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 7, 1944 and received the name of Sister Mary Sacramenta. Miss Lambert remained with the Community until 1970, where the members were trained as both nurses and teachers. She was trained as a Medical Records Librarian in 1959 at St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis. and as an Inhalation Therapist in 1964 at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Madonna received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Reading Specialty, grades K-8 in 1969 from the University of Albuquerque in New Mexico.
Miss Lambert returned to live in Marinette in 1984. She worked at Newcap on 9th Street and later at Job Service on Pierce Ave. as a Senior Aide of Curative Workshops in Green Bay. On Oct. 25, 1988, Madonna began as an instructor in the Adult Reading and Tutoring Program for G.E.D. students at NWTC in Marinette. She worked for nearly 4 years with this program where she enjoyed the volunteer tutors and adult students.
She enjoyed gardening, music and the lighting of luminaries outside Northland Village at Christmas where she resided for a number of years.
Miss Lambert was an active member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar Society and a member of the Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound of the Parish. She was an Auxiliary volunteer at Bay Area Medical Center and also did private tutoring in her own home on Elizabeth Ave.
Madonna is survived by a niece, Jan M. Greason of El Cajon, Calif. and several cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Aloysius; a sister, Pauline; a niece, Jill Johnson; a sister-in-law, Joyce Lambert; and a brother-in-law, Harry Greason.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12 noon on Friday, November 23, 2018, at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church by the Reverend Celestine Byekwaso. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. on Friday until the funeral mass. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
