Obituary

Beloved mother and grandmother, Lois Marie Pesch, passed from this life on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Bay Area Medical Center. Lois was surrounded by her family. She will be missed beyond measure.
Lois was born to Russell and Glendora Gould on February 23, 1934. She is survived by her siblings, DeWayne, Jim, Ken, Bonnie and Lynn.
Leo Pesch, Jr. was lucky enough to catch Lois’ eye as she worked behind the soda counter at Lauermans. Leo described her as the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Lois joked that he was only interested in her because her dad was a milkman and Leo thought that ensured free milk for life! They were married 49 years and raised 10 children. Leo passed in 2004 and their first born, special daughter, Lea, joined her dad in heaven in 2005.
Lois was a phenomenal cook and baker. Her banana bread, perogies, pasta salads, shepherd’s pie, beef, chicken dumpling and barley soups were second to none. She loved to eat as well, having never seen a pie she didn’t like! She loved KFC, cherry turnovers, blueberries and sushi.
Having taught young kids in the Headstart Program full-time for 30 years, she touched the lives of many generations of local families. Lois loved kids—her patience was legendary and her grandchildren were her life in later years.
Lois is survived by her children, LouAnn (Scott Berth), Laurie (Dave Behnke), Lisa (Terry Hunter), Lynn (Jeff Green), Leo III (Jackie), Lance (Maureen), Loni, Liz (Mark Pilot) and Leslie (Gene Manual). She and Leo thought they were clever naming all ten kids with an “L” name.
Grandchildren include Tiffiny, Jessica, Heidi, Justin, Jenilee, Adam, Katie, Taylor, Leo IV, Rheann, Mark, Holly, Clayton, Charlie, Avery, Owen, Brianna and Amaya. Her great-grandchildren are Asher, Sawyer, Nolan, Scarlett, Eliott, Charlie and Taygen.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 4 until 7 p.m.
Lois was a kind, compassionate, humble soul unaware of how remarkable she was. Always gracious, she put others’ needs ahead of her own. It is now her time to rest and reap her heavenly reward.
