Obituary

Kenneth Patrick Marineau, 78, passed away on January 2, 2020. Ken was born on May 10, 1941 in Marinette to Raymond and Rose (Beyer) Marineau. He graduated from Marinette Catholic Central in 1959 and soon thereafter joined the U.S. Navy, not only to serve his country but to see the world. His Naval career took him as far as Camp Lejeune, N.C. where he served as a hospital corpsman. After his return from the Navy, he married the former Sharon Boesen in 1965. Following graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay he began work at Marinette County Health and Human Services where he was employed until his retirement in 2000.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, especially while traveling and camping in their RV. After retirement, he and Sharon spent several years “snow birding” in Gulf Shores, Ala., enjoying the warm weather. He always enjoyed a good movie, especially science fiction or old westerns, listening to the Beatles or Elvis Presley and working with computers.
Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon (Boesen) Marineau; daughters, Beth Marineau (Brian McKenney) of Marinette and Richelle (Tony) Schwaller of Houghton, Mich.; grandson, Jordan Eatherton; granddaughter, Annabelle Schwaller; a brother, Ronald (Shirley) Marineau of Lakewood, Calif.; a sister, Muriel “Mitzi” Marineau of San Diego, Calif; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Marineau; his dog, “Sally”; and his cat, “Snowflake”, who Ken sorely missed.
Visitation will be held at North Shore Church in Menominee from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. and will be followed by a luncheon at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice or North Shore Church.
Ken’s family extends a special thank you to the staff of The Cottages in Marinette and to Unity Hospice for their care over the past months.
Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home is assisting the family.
