Born in Marinette, Wisconsin
Resided in Marinette, Wisconsin

Katie Taylor, age fifty, passed from her loving family, to rejoin her parents on April 13, 2020. Katie was born on January 27, 1970 to Robert and Lydia Taylor.
Katie brought joy and love to not only her family, but all those who knew her. She changed peoples’ perceptions about individuals with Down Syndrome. She embraced life with open arms and an open heart. Katie enjoyed cheeseburgers, soda, music from the eighties, her bike, grocery shopping, and going for rides in the car to look for cows. She loved bowling with her family too. When she physically couldn’t bowl anymore, she enjoyed a bowling app on her iPad.
Katie worked at Goodwill after leaving school. There wasn’t a person who enjoyed getting a check for “big money” from Goodwill more than she did. Depositing the check was a thrill for her. It showed how she valued her work there.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother. She is survived by her siblings who adored her, Sarah (Peter) Austad, Annie Gilbert, Jim (Starr) Taylor, Ruth (Debbie Shupe), Mary(Chuck) Weber. She is also survived by nephews and a niece, Taylor (Julie) Austad, David Austad, and Meredith Freiss. Katie was blessed to have two great-nieces and a great-nephew, Fiona Austad, Johanna Freiss, and Jordan Freiss.
The family would like to thank Goodwill Industries, Luther Home, Lakeland Care, Kristy Brown and her staff at Aurora, and the community for caring and appreciating this beautiful soul.
Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home is assisting the family. Private services will be held later to celebrate her life.
