Donna Bannow, 82, of Marinette passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Death came after a short illness, pneumonia complicated by a stroke, at Aurora BayCare Health Center in Green Bay. She was born on May 27, 1935 in Ruthven, Iowa.
Donna spent her early life in Chicago, Ill., graduating from high school there. After graduation she moved to California with her parents. Several years later, she met and married Robert Bannow, who was stationed there while in the Air Force. A few months after their June 11, 1960 marriage, they moved to Bob’s hometown, Marinette, Wis. Donna was employed by the Scott Paper Company for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
Bob and Donna had a long and happy marriage, mutually supporting and enjoying each other. Among the many activities they enjoyed were sailing, traveling, and later flying in Bob’s airplane. They spent many weekends sailing to Door County during the summer months and stayed for extended periods in Florida in the years immediately following retirement. Donna enjoyed knitting, reading, and solving crossword puzzles during her leisure time.
Donna is survived by her husband, Robert; sister-in-law, Jane Wagner of Grafton, Wis.; and brother-in-law, Rollin and his wife Lianne of Portland, Oregon.
At Donna’s request there will be no public memorial service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
