Constance Watz Obituary

Constance "Connie" Watz

January 28, 1947 - November 9, 2019
Born in Menominee, Michigan
Resided in Oconto, Wisconsin

Constance (Connie) Lee Watz, age 72, passed away on November 9th, 2019. At the time of her passing Connie was a resident of Oconto, WI. Connie was born on January 28, 1947 to the late Charles and Leona Slawinski.

Connie lived a full life that began with a career as a secretary for Ansul. Entering her fourth decade, it was time for a change. Connie dedicated herself to obtaining an Associates Degree in Nursing from Bay College. After 52 years in Wisconsin, Connie relocated to the warmer climate and sunny skies of Arizona where she had a successful nursing career for several years. In later years, she would miss being close to family and moved back to Wisconsin where she retired in Oconto and began a third adventure as a travel/tour guide for Lamers Bus Company.

Connie lived to hear about her grandchildren's accomplishments and loved them dearly. She spent countless hours at practices and games in Wisconsin, and on the phone with her grandchildren in Ohio listening to their adventures in school, talking about their sports accomplishments and the friends they played with that day.

She was fascinated by all types of weather events and enjoyed a good January blizzard as much as a Spring thunderstorm or a beautiful Fall day full of vibrant colors. She was passionate about travel and always looked forward to discovering new places, sampling the local cuisine, and meeting new people.

She is survived by her son, Eric (Cori) Watz; daughter, Melissa Chmela (Darren Teteak); her four beloved grandchildren, Kennedy Chmela, Kasen Watz, Mia Watz and Jaxen Teteak; and ex-spouse Ken Watz. She was the oldest of three sisters with younger sisters, Carol (Phil) Marbes and Cindy (Tim) Heim, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends that she held near and dear to her heart.

A celebration of Connie's life with luncheon will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 12 pm at Bayside Senior Living, 237 Cook Ave. Oconto, WI
