Resided in Marinette, Wisconsin

Carole (Mikulsky) Ziemer, 84, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2017.
Carole was born on June 22, 1933 in Green Bay, WI to Philip and Lucille Mikulsky. Carole married James Ziemer on May 4, 1957 in Green Bay. He preceded her in death in January 2015. The Ziemers moved to Marinette in 1961 where Carole worked with her husband in his photography studio, specifically using her artistic talents to oil paint black and white photographs prior to the advent of color photography. When her children were older, Carole became the secretary at the Holy Family Church, St. Joseph’s rectory. A long-time member of St. Anthony’s Parish and the consolidated Holy Family Parish, Carole served her community on parish committees, a Eucharistic Minister, and as a member of the, then, Catholic Central High School Board of Education. She loved listening to Brewers’ games, making puzzles, and sewing her “potato bags.”
Carole was the loving mother of five children, Marjorie (Timothy) Fermanich of Menominee, MI, Jaime (Kevin) Klein of Murrayville, IL, Heidi (Keith) Morrison of Saratoga, CA, Christopher (Sherri) Ziemer of Oshkosh, WI, and Lizabeth (Robert) Ruehle of Muskego, WI. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren and six, soon to be seven, great grandchildren.
Carole is survived by her children, as well as her younger siblings, six sisters and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Dorothy, a very special aunt, Marjorie James, older brother Eugene, and her twin and womb-mate, Gerald.
Carole’s life will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2017 with a visitation at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A funeral mass will be held after the visitation at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Family Parish - Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank the Luther Home for helping to care for Carole at the end of her days and all of the staff at the Harbors Retirement Community.
