Obituary

William "Bill" Bonner, 72, of Marinette, a resident of Rennes Health Center East, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, January 18, 2016, at Bay Area Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born March 30, 1943 in Canon City, Colorado, to Eldridge and Ruth (Shell) Bonner.

Bill graduated from Wichita County High School after having moved to Leoti, Kansas with his family. Returning to Colorado, for many years he owned and operated the SKOL Liquor Store in Colorado Springs. On November 22, 1968, he married the former Pamela Lofman. His family moved to the Marinette area where he was employed by Safeguard and Scott Paper.

Bill loved golfing, working with wood and planting flowers. Treasured family times were spent horseback riding with daughter Lisa, and working on classic cars and participating in car shows with son, Mike.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter Lisa Vista; son Mike (Robin) Bonner; granddaughter, Marissa Benoit; and grandson, Alex Bonner. He is further survived by a brother, Gene (Pat) Bonner, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bonner; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Connie Dierks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, at the Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the Rennes Health Care East Staff and the nurses and doctors of BAMC for their thoughtful care.
