Lois L. Borkowski, 88, of Marinette passed away peacefully on her birthday, Sunday October 29, 2017, at Rennes Health Center-West in Peshtigo. Born October 29, 1929 in Oconto to Carl and Ruth Strom, she was the fifth of ten children in her family.
Lois married Robert Harold Borkowski on May 10, 1947. They resided in Pound and Peshtigo before moving to their home on Highway 64 near Marinette. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2005. In her early years Lois worked at the former A&W Restaurant and at the M&M Box Company. She was a devoted wife and mother, staying at home to care for her family. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and shared her husband’s interests in following the Green Bay Packers and snowmobiling in the winter. She was a longtime and active member of First Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Mary Martha Society.
Lois is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Larry) Lambie of Seymour, Wis., Karen (Jeff) LaCanne and Bonni (Bruce) LaCanne, both of Menominee; one son, Richard (Avis) Borkowski of Marinette; thirteen grandchildren, Laurie (Tim) Wagner, Diane (Brian) Radmer, Larry (Cathy) Lambie, Keith (Julianna) Lambie, Jonathan Lambie, Daniel (Kerry) Etersky, Cathy (Jay) Jenquin, Adam LaCanne, Kimberly (Nick) Brukardt, Matthew (Tracy) LaCanne, Jennifer LaCanne, Richard (Bobbie) Borkowski, Jr. and Carrie (Casey) Longtine; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three infant children, Judith, Kenneth and a baby boy; and a grandson, Bradley.
