Obituary

Kathleen E. Selby, 84, of Marinette, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at Bay Area Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1933 in Billings, Montana to Charles and Catharine (nee, Bean) Edwards. She spent her early life in Billings, graduating from high school there. Kathy was a graduate of the University of Denver where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Later, she earned a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University.
In August of 1955, Kathy married William Selby, having first met in high school while in Billings. They resided in California, Washington State, Colorado and western Wisconsin before coming to Peshtigo in 1971. For a number of years Kathy taught at Peshtigo Elementary School until her retirement.
She was a member of the Peshtigo United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club, had served on the Peshtigo City Council and the Marinette County Library Board and was a charter member of Chapter CX, PEO Sisterhood. She loved the game of bridge and was an avid player.
Kathy is survived by her children and grandchildren; daughter, Karen (Keith) Falls and their children, Kirsten, Kiley and Kamden; son, Scott (Meghan) Selby and their children, Lauren and William; and daughter, Mary Arvanites.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A private family memorial service will be held at a later time.
Memorial donations in Kathy's name for the Stephenson Public Library, 1700 Hall Ave., Marinette, WI 54143 are suggested.
