Ethel W. Martz, 94, of Marinette passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Luther Home. She was born on October 12, 1923, in Marinette to Rudolph and Pearl (Pope) Popp.
Ethel grew up in Crivitz and graduated from Crivitz High School. On October 20, 1945, Ethel was united in marriage to the late Charles Peters; and together they had two daughters. Ethel later married the late Arnold Martz on January 29, 1977, and was welcomed into the family by his children. Ethel loved staying busy and pursued many hobbies, baking, rosemaling, crocheting, square dancing, and playing bridge and pinochle. But spending time with her family is what brought her the greatest joy.
Ethel was a life long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the Ladies Aid and Sunshine Committees.

Ethel is survived by her children Carol (Wayne) Emmes, Ken (Nancy) Rosenthal, Stanley Martz, and Gerald (Barbara) Martz; 19 grandchildren,
Tara (Steve) Miller, Emilee (Craig) Cook, Kevin (Christy) Rosenthal, Daela (David) Reiswitz, Tricia (Matthew) Laffin, Debbie (Gary) Sundberg, Jenny (Bart) Lian, Gary (Joan) Martz, James Martz, Virginia (Ellen Lurie) Martz, Laura (Michael) Tomlin, Suzanne (Rodney) Austin, Katherine (Kenneth) Hanson, Jean (Robert) Anderson, Robert (Roxanna) Plouff, Richard (Tiffany) Plouff, Anne Plouff, David (Jennifer) Plouff, Nancy Plouff; 13 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her children; Doris Rosenthal, Clarice and John Plouff, Donna Martz and her brothers, David and Elmer Popp.

Friends may call at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 9 until 11 am. Funeral services will be held at 11 am in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, date to be announced.
