Dorothy Perkins, 94, of Marinette, passed away on November 10, 2017, at Rennes Health Center-West in Peshtigo, where she resided for the past couple of months. She was born on February 4, 1923 in Menominee, Michigan to the late Arthur and Aurora (Holappa) Beyer.
Dorothy graduated from Menominee High School in 1942. On September 16, 1943, she married Donald Perkins. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life’s calling was that of being a caregiver to others, always putting their needs above her own. She worked as a CNA at the Luther Home from 1967 to 1993.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (David) Callow of Menominee and Kay (Larry) Wenzel of West Bend, Wis.; and one son, David (Penny) Perkins of Marinette. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Sarah and Mark Callow of Menominee, Jamie Perkins of Green Bay, Wis. and Robyn (Chad) DuFrane of Neenah, Wis.; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Leonard) Bassen of Menominee; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Callow; three sisters, Mildred Behrens, Myrtle Varvil and Ruth Rewolinski; and two brothers, Roy and Clifford Beyer.
Family and friends may call at Bethel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Ehle and the Rev. Bill Beyer officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee with a graveside service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to express gratitude to Northland Village, Karen Lemire and Phyllis Johnson for their caring support. A special thank you to the BAMC Staff, Heartland Hospice, Dr. Humberto Mochizuki, Dr. Ahmed Noman and Dr. Khaled Elkady Hussein for the compassionate care they gave to Dorothy.
