Obituary

Delores A. Krause, 90, of Marinette, fell asleep in faith on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Rennes-West in Peshtigo, following a valiant struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. She was born July 5, 1927 in the Town of Little River, Oconto County, to Edward and Ida (Behnke) Sterzing. She spent most of her early life with her family in the Town of Grover where she attended the Payne School.
On April 14, 1945, she married Melvin C. Krause. Delores worked for a while at the Boreal Glove Co. and later for the Marinette Knitting Mill where she displayed her skill as a seamstress. For the greater part of her life, Delores led an active lifestyle as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Her many skills included cooking, baking, sewing, wood refinishing, painting and gardening. She sold Sarah Coventry jewelry for many years. She also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling and deer hunting in Florence County as well as Wyoming. At one time she even competed in and won a tractor pulling contest with her husband’s Cat. Delores also was a writer of poetry and leaves behind a cherished collection of poems for her family. Because of her love for God and the Bible, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1978 loving to share the Bible’s hope for the future with others.
She is survived by four children, Glenda (David) Karchinski of DePere, Melvin (Karen) Krause, Jr. of Marinette, Bonny (Edward) Liesman of Waukesha and Kim (Jeannette) Krause of Marinette; 11 grandchildren, David (Pam) Karchinski, Ann (Randy) DuBois, Eric (Christy) Karchinski, Angela Krause, Jill (Dan) Kirchner, Clint (Kelly) Krause, Andria (Joe) Miller, Matthew (Jenn) Liesman, Bethany Liesman, Seth (Jennie) Krause and Kyle (Linzy) Krause; 16 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; a sister, Beverly; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Merlen (Emily), Elmer (Loretta) and Loren (Gloria) Sterzing.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home on Monday, November 20, 2017, from 3 until 5:30 p.m. A comforting Bible talk will be given at 5:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Melvin, Sr. at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Rennes-West and to Unity Hospice for their compassionate care and many acts of kindness.
