Donna M. Nyland, 82, of Marinette, passed away Wednesday morning,
January 25, 2012, at Rennes Health Center-West in Peshtigo
under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born August 9,
1929 in Oconto, Wisconsin to Martin and Lenora (nee Zielke)
Berger.
She spent her early life in Oconto and was a graduate of Oconto
High School. Donna worked at the Farnsworth Library until her
marriage to Gene Raymond Nyland on September 15, 1962. She
had resided in Marinette since that time.
Following Gene's death on October 13, 1989, she returned to
library work at the Stephenson Public Library in Marinette
where she was well liked by patrons. In her life and work,
Donna had a special heart for children.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Marinette. Her faith was very precious to her.
Donna is survived by a nephew, Warren (Sarah) Berger of Louisa,
Va.; special friends and neighbors, Judy Hopfensperger and
family, Corrine Hesyck and sons, Lois Beyer and Diane Ewaldt,
along with many other dear neighbors and friends.
Friends may call at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Marinette, after 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the church
with the Rev. Jon Tesch and the Rev. Frederick Mueller officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hesyck, Adam Hesyck, Jay Borths,
Tanner Borths, Craig Hopfensperger and Robert Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donna's name to
Trinity Lutheran Church are suggested.
