Marian Marie (Potchie) Bourdelais, 89, of Marinette, went
home to join her beloved husband, Robert, on Sunday, January
22, 2012. She was born January 30, 1922 to LaVern and Elva
Potchie and was a lifelong resident of Marinette.
Marian married Robert G. Bourdelais on July 16, 1943. They
had six children and were together for 63 years. Marian enjoyed
spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed cooking for
her family, relatives and friends. Marian was an avid bowler,
enjoyed making ceramics, crocheting and playing cards at the
Senior Center. Bob and Marian enjoyed summers at their cottage
on Shore Drive and spending winter months in Florida.
Marian worked at Little River Country Club and catered many
events out of her home. She also worked as a secretary for
Wood Oil Co., DeHart's Gas and at Marinette High School until
her retirement in 1986.
Marian is survived by her children, Robert (Gillian) Bourdelais
and Barbara (Craig) Messerschmidt, both of Green Bay; and Bruce
Bourdelais, Bradley Bourdelais, Delore (Nancy) Bourdelais and
Callie Gryzwa, all of Marinette; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen
great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Kolander of Florida; a
brother, LaVern Potchie, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Bette DelMonaco,
both of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents;
an infant brother; father and mother-in-law, Delore and Hazel
Bourdelais; a brother-in-law, Paul Kolander and son-in-law,
Willie Gryzwa.
Friend may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home, Marinette,
after 2 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012. Services will be
held at 4 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with the Rev.
Craig Mansur officiating.
